Choose an A4 or A5 printable planner based on how you write and where you keep it. A4 offers a larger writing area for tables and longer notes. A5 is smaller and easier to carry. Size alone cannot tell you which format suits you, so test a page with the way you plan to use it before printing a full set.
Ask three questions first
- Do you write short lists or longer notes and tables?
- Will the page stay on a desk or travel with you?
- Will binding or hole punching cover part of the page?
If you are unsure, sketch the headings and writing areas at the intended size. Put the sketch beside your current notebook or fill in a photo of the layout to check whether the spacing works for your handwriting.
Print one test page
- Choose the paper size that is actually loaded in the printer.
- Check the preview so the page edge or binding margin is not cut off.
- Print one sheet and fill a few boxes using your normal handwriting.
- If the printer offers scaling options, compare “actual size” with “fit to page” in the preview; option names vary by device.
Small boxes may fill quickly if you write detailed notes. A large page may leave too much open space if you prefer a minimal layout. Judge it after trying a real week, not by looking at a blank sheet.
